QK-AS02 AIS/VHF Whip Antenna

Description

The QK-AS02 AIS/VHF Whip Antenna is an entry-level two component mobile VHF Antenna.

Includes a 5m  RG5 8U coaxial cable that connects using a male BNC connector to the VHF/AIS receiver of your choice. The whip is partially sprung to provide increased flexibility and durability and is coated to reduce corrosion. Ideal for outdoor applications needing a sturdy, movable antenna. Suitable for boats and other vehicles.

Please be advised due to the construction materials of the AS02 VHF antenna it is not the ideal antenna for prolonged use out at sea and is generally used for freshwater boating.
We recommend the QK-A012 for this type of use.

Choice of base mounts:

Magnetic base mounts very simply to any horizontal ferromagnetic metal surface using a strong magnetic base. (15 mm/5/8” magnet depth, 40 mm/1.5” overall depth) 5/8”/15 mm antenna mount

Clasp mount connects to vertical to horizontal railings or bars with a maximum of 200mm diameter. 180 degree positioning.

While the clasp allows for connection to railings, please note, this is not  the recommended location for VHF antennas, as such a low placement will affect reception and range. We recommend placing your VHF antenna at height and away from salt water spray.
